The city is also home to Sapporo Brewery and the famous white chocolate biscuits called shiroi koibito (白い恋人, "lovers in white"). Clock tower was constructed in 1878 as a drill hall of Sapparo Agricultural Collage. Inside is a panel exhibition introducing the history of the clock tower and a display of clocks of hte same model.
Odori park is a downtown oasis streching approximately 1,5 km from east to west. It plays host to a variety of events.
