Miyajima Island

Standing in the bay in front of the shrine, the floating torii is the "gate" to Itsukushima. The gate is "floating" or merely mired in mud depends on the tide.  It was in mud for us...
Karta av ön
A lot of tame deers amble around the island as well as monkeys but we didn't see any.
Otorii Gate
Itsukushima Shrine, A unesco world Heritage Site, Itsukushima is a large, redlacquered complex of halls and pathways on stilts, orginally so built that commoners could visit without defiling the island with their footprints.

Five-storied Pagaoda
Utsökt fika innan vi åkte hem. Cappuccino och cheesecake till Matvey.
The worlds largest Spatula, over 5 meters long. Located on Omotesando, the main shopping street. Miyajima is well-known for it's rice scoops, spatula-esque wooden spoons used to serve cooked rice.
